I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – If you’re not happy with something in your life, change it. Don’t talk about it, don’t complain about it and especially don’t compare yourself to others and brood over feelings of envy. Get up and go.

The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind for me. While I was working a job that offered stable pay and fabulous benefits, deep down inside I felt I wasn’t living. My passion for writing was constantly being pushed lower and lower in terms of priorities and I was coming home every day exhausted, unmotivated and an overall very negative person to live with. I kept bouncing back and forth about the idea of leaving my job and pursuing an entrepreneurial career, but the thought of diving into the unknown terrified me and I knew that stability still trumped happiness when it came to financial obligations. I had weighed the ideas of trying to balance my job and find the time to write each week, but after nine hours spend every day starting at a screen while sitting behind a desk, I knew that second wind to write would never appear, no matter how hard I strived to commit the time and energy. A transition had to be made.

I had endless conversations with friends and Zach about what the “right” thing to do was when suddenly, it clicked. Passion is what fuels us each day. If we’re not passionate about something, we are never going to have the energy to move forward and conquer our goals. We will simply continue going in circles and stirring the pot full of negativity and dissatisfaction. While some people may truly be content with living each and every day the same, I can comfortably declare I am not. I am a vibe seeker, a learner and a risk-taker. I want every day to be different from the last and to wake up feeling excited and refreshed from the days that have passed. We can’t control our future, so why work in a setting that is painfully predictable?

I am so proud of myself for making the changes needed and biting the bullet to leave my full-time job in order to pursue my dream of owning my own company and building a content creation empire. I am confident there will be plenty of ups and downs along the way, but despite it all, I made the change that was begging to be made and am that much closer to fulfilling my goals.
